4 features missing in Amazon CloudWatch

Amazon CloudWatch currently persist the monitored data for 2 weeks, if this period is custom extendable and can be priced accordingly for the storage (of monitored data) then it will benefit enterprise and large scale deployments

Using Amazon CloudWatch, if we can monitor and check the status of popular Web /App servers, Databases and some commonly used applications/services or stacks it will reduce and avoid the usage of multiple monitoring tools in the AWS Infrastructure

Ability to extend the Amazon CloudWatch with custom monitoring plug-ins will be a very good feature. AWS developers and administrators can write scripts and customize, aggregate, collect and extend the existing Amazon CloudWatch System

Alerting is one of the important features missing in Amazon CloudWatch service. Configurable alerts, frequencies and multiple alert channels are some important features missing in the current versions of Amazon CloudWatch. Currently the infrastructure administrators have to write their custom scripts to have alerts delivered from Amazon CloudWatch
